A Case Study on the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition
Over the last six years, the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition has been building something bigger than a single program or funding initiative.
Across Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming, Native CDFIs have worked together to strengthen lending, grow their organizations, build new infrastructure, invest in their workforce, and create stronger connections across the Indigenous Finance Ecosystem.

The Mountain | Plains Coalition Case Study explores how relationships became infrastructure. Through peer-to-peer learning, shared leadership, and sustained collaboration, Native CDFIs strengthened one another, exchanged ideas more freely, and built solutions that could travel across organizations and communities. It offers a closer look at how trust, reciprocity, and collective learning helped turn local expertise into broader systems change across the Indigenous Finance Ecosystem.
